Local Software Developer Earns CPIM Designation
Clifton Park, NY (July 2009) – Jonathan
Sternfeld, 38, of EXEControl Global Solutions, was recently
recognized
as Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
CPIM is a program offered by APICS The Association for
Operations Management, a not-for-profit, international
educational society representing manufacturing and service
industry professionals.
Jonathan is presently a Senior Applications Developer
for EXEControl Global Solutions (EGS) in Clifton Park.
EGS is a full-service information technology company offering
business software, business consulting and networking support
and services throughout North America. As a Senior Applications
Developer, Jonathan is responsible for much of the development
and maintenance of EGS’s flagship product, the EXEControl
ERP/CRM business software package. Jonathan has been with
EGS for over fifteen years.
To qualify for the CPIM designation, a candidate must
complete a rigorous course of study and a series of five
comprehensive examinations. Introduced in 1973, APICS
designed the CPIM program to develop specialized knowledge
in the latest production and inventory management techniques
and trends.
“While CPIM might seem like an odd certification
for an applications developer to pursue, to me it made
perfect sense. Much of the APICS body of knowledge relies
on data obtained from a company’s computer system,
so it is my job to make sure that this data is accessible,” Jonathan
said.
APICS The Association for Operations Management is the
global leader and premier source of the body of knowledge
in operations management, including production, inventory,
supply chain, materials management, purchasing, and logistics.
Since 1957, individuals and companies have relied on APICS
for its superior training, internationally recognized certifications,
comprehensive resources, and worldwide network of accomplished
industry professionals. The APICS community is composed
of nearly 40,000 individuals from 15,000 companies worldwide.
